Records to Evidence

Make difficult records useful.

Turn a difficult document collection or dataset into a checked, usable public or internal resource.

For a team with material worth understanding, not a request to manufacture an argument. Sources, definitions, limitations and the final output are agreed together.

Before an engagement starts

Know what you are buying.

Associations, research teams, nonprofits and institutional communications teams with records people need to understand.

The evidence exists, but finding, explaining or checking it takes too much staff time.

What you receive

  • A source inventory and documented definitions.
  • A reproducible transformation and checking process.
  • A scoped searchable resource, data experience or evidence brief.
  • A methods, limitations and handover record.

What we need from you

  • A non-sensitive sample and an explanation of the intended audience.
  • Permission to use and publish the agreed material.
  • An available subject-matter reviewer and one acceptance owner.

What is not included

  • Obtaining unavailable records or guaranteeing disclosure.
  • Legal opinions, expert certification or unscoped primary research.
  • A claim of complete or error-free underlying government data.

How completion is checked

  • Agreed questions can be answered and traced to the cited record.
  • Named checks pass on the agreed dataset; discrepancies are documented.
  • The agreed output and handover materials are delivered and reviewed.
Timing
Delivery milestones are confirmed after reviewing a representative sample and the intended output.
Fees and changes
A written fixed-fee proposal follows the scope review. Changes to the agreed scope require approval before work proceeds.
Ownership and handover
The proposal identifies source-code and data rights, third-party licences, hosting accounts, documentation and handover. Hosting, model/API charges and ongoing maintenance are separate unless expressly included.

These are the standard scope boundaries; the signed proposal controls the specific engagement. No ranking, regulatory outcome or third-party behavior is guaranteed.
