Privacy Policy

Who we are

Prior Signal is a privately held strategy firm based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.priorsignal.com, how we use it, and your rights.

What we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly through the contact form on /contact, the newsletter signup, and invited client diagnostic workspaces. This may include your name, email address, organization, business goals, operating constraints, workflow descriptions, selected permissions and boundaries, and filenames you identify for a future evidence handoff. The current diagnostic prototype does not upload the contents of those files.

A diagnostic draft is stored in the browser you use so you can leave and return. It remains there until you use the workspace reset control or clear that site’s browser data. When you submit, the structured diagnostic is transmitted to Prior Signal.

We do not use advertising cookies or session replay. Contact inquiries may include a selected service and an approved public source-page category so we can route your request. We do not store raw referral query strings in those fields. We do not sell, rent, or share personal information with advertisers or data brokers.

Analytics

We use Vercel Analytics for cookieless visit measurement and aggregate engagement events. Our event properties contain listed service identifiers, inquiry categories and approved public page paths, not names, email addresses or message text. Before sending an event, the website strips URL query strings and excludes private and unrecognized page paths. The hosting and analytics providers may process technical request information to operate their services. See Vercel’s privacy policy for details.

Processors

Contact, newsletter, and invited client-workspace submissions may be processed by:

• Supabase provides authentication and, when enabled for an engagement, stores authorized client records in a Postgres database hosted in Canada or the United States. See Supabase privacy.
• Resend queues email notifications and structured diagnostic submissions to authorized Prior Signal recipients. See Resend privacy.
• Vercel hosts the website and runs serverless functions. See Vercel privacy.

How we use information

• To respond to inquiries you initiate.
• To deliver newsletter content you have explicitly subscribed to.
• To maintain operational records of client and prospect communication.
• To assess an invited client’s business, prepare an evidence-ranked diagnostic, and propose work for human review.
• To improve the website (aggregate, cookieless analytics only).

Prior Signal may use AI-assisted analysis to organize an invited diagnostic and prepare draft findings under human review. We minimize the material provided, exclude credentials and payment information, follow the permissions recorded in the diagnostic, and do not use client information to train public AI models. We do not repurpose submissions for marketing campaigns you did not opt into.

Retention

Contact and client diagnostic submissions are retained in the relevant business mailbox or authorized client system for as long as the business relationship and operational record require, or until you request deletion, subject to legal obligations and backup cycles. Browser drafts remain on the device as described above. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Under PIPEDA (Canada) and GDPR (EU/UK visitors), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your information (subject to legal and operational record-keeping requirements).
• Withdraw consent for any future processing.
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or your local data protection authority.
